Staten Island, NY - Trailing by 16 points with under a minute left to play in the third quarter, the Wagner College women's basketball team battled back in cutting the deficit in half with 6:34 left in the contest before the visiting Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers closed out the game on a 14-7 run as the Seahawks fell 67-52 on Monday afternoon.
Redshirt senior guard Janelle Mullen was one of two Seahawks to finish in double figures, as she finished with a team-high 15 points in 35 minutes of play.  Junior Khaleah Edwards recorded her second double-double of the season, concluding the game with 12 points and a game-high ten rebounds while also logging 35 minutes of action.Â
Three Mountaineers finished in double-digits, led by Kendall Bresee, who dropped 18 points, 12 of which coming from beyond-the-arc. Rebecca Lee and Michaela Harrison each added 13 points.Â

How It Happened:
First Quarter
- The visitors opened the game with a 11-4 advantage before Edwards was able to put a halt to the run with her first points of the afternoon.Â
- Five straight points from the Mount gave built a double-digit lead for the Mountaineers, 16-6, following a Aryna Taylor triple.Â
- Wagner closed out the stanza scoring five of the final seven points, as Mullen netted her first points of the game after receiving the feed from freshman Drayah Heyward.Â

Second Quarter
- Morgan Lenahan was able to drive past her defender en route to laying it up for two for the first points of the quarter and trimming the Mount lead further, 18-13.
- Heyward netted five straight points, capped by a mid-range jumper, in bringing Wagner to within four, 26-22
- Wagner outscored the Mount, 11-7, over a 4:09 stretch in getting to within four after Mullen layed it up for two.Â
- The Mount netted five of the quarter's final seven points in holding on to a 29-24 lead heading into the break.Â

Third Quarter
- Freshman Alex Cowan converted on a pair from the line, as Wagner trailed 33-28, in the opening minutes of the third quarter.
- The Mount responded in a the form of a 10-0 run, stretching the lead up to 15, 43-28, holding the Seahawks to just two shot attempts in a span of 2:17.Â
- Taylor Addison missed a layup and Seahawk guard Raven Pitt was able to collect the loose ball and score.Â
- The two teams finished out the quarter scoring seven points apiece with the visitors holding a 50-34 edge heading into the final quarter.

Fourth Quarter
- To start the final period, Wagner raced out on a 8-3 spurt in holding Mount St. Mary's to four missed field goals in cutting the lead back to single digits, 53-45, as Pitt was able to make the contested shot in the paint.Â
- The Mountaineers closed out the game on a 14-7 run, while only connecting on 3 of 4 from the field and hitting on 6 of 8 from the line in posting the 15-point victory.Â
- Wagner was held to just 1 of 8 shooting down the stretch, but converted on 5 of 6 from the line.Â

Inside The Numbers:
- Edwards' 12 points, 10 rebound double-double performance is the fourth such performance this season and first since December 22, 2019, in which teammate Emilija Krista Grava went for 17 points and 12 rebounds at Colgate.Â
- Of Wagner's 52 points, 22 of those were scored inside-the-paint as the Seahawks held a 22-20 edge in that department.Â
- The Green & White outscored Mount St. Mary's, 13-9, in second-chance points.
- Mount St. Mary's held a 41-39 edge on the boards while the Green & White outmuscled the Mountaineers, 15-10, on the offensive glass.
