West Long Branch, NJ – The Wagner College softball team fell to Monmouth in both games of Sunday's doubleheader, losing game one by a score of 8-0 before dropping a 4-0 decision in game two.
With the two losses, Wagner now sits at 5-15 on the season, while the Hawks improve to 13-8 this year.

The Seahawks threatened in the top of the third inning, as back-to-back hits by junior
Zoe Bender and senior
Karen Prihoda gave the Green and White a scoring opportunity with runners on first and third, but a ground out ended the inning and kept Wagner off the scoreboard.
For Prihoda, it was the 193
rd hit of her career, moving her within seven of becoming the third Seahawk ever to record 200 career hits.
The Hawks struck once in the second inning and added three runs in the third as well as four runs in the sixth to win the game.
In the circle, freshman Kaila Hooks was charged with the loss after pitching the entirety of the game.
Game 2 Recap: Monmouth 4, Wagner 0
The second game of the afternoon was tightly contested as neither team managed to score in the first three innings of play.
The Hawks broke through in the fourth by scoring four runs in earning the sweep.
The Seahawks had their best scoring opportunity in the sixth, as a single by senior
Lauren Serrato and a walk to junior
Amelia Van Orman put two runners on base for the Seahawks, but Wagner couldn't capitalize.
Wagner was led by Serrato's two hits, while freshman
Natalie Del Ponte, senior
Jessica Carlucci, and junior
Hannah Lewis also recorded hits for the Seahawks.

Ciera Luna was charged with the loss, throwing the complete game while striking out four.
