Orlando, FL – On January 8, the Wagner College Seahawk Marching Band participated in the Biennial "Bands of the Northeast Conference" concert, which was held on the Main Stage at Disney Springs in Orlando, FL.
The Seahawks, under the direction of Jose Diaz Jr., joined fellow Northeast Conference (NEC) bands from Sacred Heart and Robert Morris University in this year's performance. The three colleges arrived in Orlando on January 7 for their one and only group rehearsal.
"Monday evening, we set up outside our hotel and rehearsed for the first time," commented Diaz Jr. "It was a unique and wonderful experience to conduct this combination of bands and students. Towards the end of the rehearsal, a group of hotel patrons had gathered around and applauded our efforts."
On Tuesday, the concert, which was open to the public and attended by vacationers and even fellow Wagner alumni, went off without a hitch.
"Even though our programs consistently compete against one another, we showed that our programs can come together every two years or so, in the spirit of making music and truly epitomize the meaning of #NECPride.
