West Point, NY – The Wagner women's tennis was shutout for the second straight match, falling to the Army West Point Black Knights, 7-0, on Saturday at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
With the loss, the Seahawks stand at 4-4 on the season while Army improves to 10-4.
Army earned the first point of the match in taking No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Seniors
Brenda Cumpa and
Carolyn Gibson's No. 3 match against Leslie Frankland and Gloria Son went unfinished at 5-3.
Sophomore
Vedika Anand lasted three sets before falling to Hannah Boubel at No. 1 singles play, 4-6; 6-2; 10-7.
The Seahawks are scheduled to travel to Fairfield, CT as they will square off against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) members, Fairfield. The match is slated for a 3:00 p.m. start.
