Providence, RI – The Wagner women's water polo team won both of its matches on day one of the Bruno Classic, hosted by Brown University, downing McKendree University 19-4 before defeating No. 13 San Diego State, 10-6.
With today's sweep, the Green & White extend their winning streak to three in improving to 3-4 on the young season.
Wagner 19 McKendree 4:
Wagner was an offensive force throughout with 10 Seahawks registering goals, seven of whom notched two or more.
Sophomore attack
Jacqui Sjogren led the way with four goals, five assists and five steals. Three Seahawk players netted their first career goals in the victory over the Bearcats in freshmen

Daisy Nankervis were able to find the back of the net one time each. Watson and Nankervis each added a pair of assists .
Defensively, Hardy and Long came up with three steals apiece while sophomore
Franciska Milo-Sidlo had two. Senior goalkeeper
Anna Ward saved three shots on goal while reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Katherine Campbell stopped two shots and added one steal.

Kimberly Watson netted her 200th career goal to help the Seahawks soar to their third victory of the 2018 campaign. With that, she now ties Courtney Crase for ninth-most goals in Wagner history. Lauren French is just 11 goals ahead of the pair in eighth place with 211 career goals.
In the second matchup of the day, the Seahawks faced No. 13 San Diego State in an evening swim-off in Providence, RI. Starting off the first period was Sjogren and Donkin which put the Seahawks up 3-1 before the end conclusion of the first stanza. In the second period, Hardy and Begg each netted one goal apiece, extending the Wagner lead to 5-2.
With just 1:58 remaining in the third quarter, Watson broke the tie on career goal No. 200 in putting the Green & White ahead by one, 6-5.
In the fourth period, the Seahawks added four more goals to the scoreboard, putting away the Aztecs. Donkin led with three goals, the trio of Hardy, Watson, and Sjogren compiled two apiece, while Begg notched one. Campbell snagged five saves in the win.
The Green & White are back in action on Sunday when they conclude the Bruno Classic with an 11:00 a.m. contest against No. 25 Bucknell.
