Greg Cusick Tabbed As Assistant Athletic Director For External Relations

Staten Island, NY – Wagner College Director of Athletics Walt Hameline has announced the addition of Greg Cusick as the Seahawks' Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations.

In his new role, Cusick will oversee all corporate sponsorships as well as all marketing & promotional efforts, which include trademark and licensing of Wagner Athletics, while also working closely in the areas of fundraising and ticketing.

"I am grateful for the opportunity being provided by Mr. Hameline and the search committee to rejoin the Wagner family," Cusick said. "I look forward to continuing the expansion of the Wagner College Athletics brand and creating a great environment for the student-athletes as well as our loyal Seahawk fans."

Before accepting the position at Wagner, Cusick spent one year at St. Augustine Preparatory School in Richland, NJ, where he served as Marketing & Communications Coordinator for the South Jersey institution.

In this capacity, Cusick generated social media graphics and content while also developing Google AdWord & Facebook Ad campaigns for the school. Additionally, he increased St. Augustine's Twitter and Facebook followers by more than 25 percent while assisting in live YouTube streaming of specific athletic and other campus-wide events. Cusick was also the freshman basketball coach for the Hermits in his lone year at St. Augustine.

Prior to his arrival at St. Augustine, the Sicklerville, NJ native spent two years on Grymes Hill as the Seahawks' Marketing & Media Relations Assistant, while pursuing an MBA in Management. In this role, Cusick was instrumental in the Seahawks' local corporate sponsorship rising by more than 30 percent. During his first stint on Grymes Hill, Cusick also developed and implemented strategic marketing plans for the football and men's & women's basketball programs. In addition, he was the athletic liaison for on-campus groups and organizations while aiding in the operation of the booster clubs for the football & basketball programs.

As the Media Relations Assistant, Cusick was the primary media contact for the Seahawk men's & women's water polo programs. The women's water polo team won back-to-back Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championships while Cusick was responsible for all media relation and sports information functions during their consecutive title runs.

During the 2013-2014 academic year, Cusick served in the athletic department at the University of Pennsylvania as Marketing & New Media Intern. In his role with the Quakers, he directed in-game promotions for both the men's and women's basketball, football, field hockey and soccer teams.

He also assisted in the management of the Penn Rewards Program while supervising a team of five undergraduate interns, in addition to contributing to the successful marketing efforts of the men's soccer team's 2013 NCAA Division I First-Round Tournament home contest vs. Big East member Providence.

Cusick replaces Mike Miller, who recently accepted a position within the athletic department at Columbia University.
