Hackensack, NJ – The Wagner men's tennis team resumed Northeast Conference (NEC) play on the road this afternoon against 2015 NEC Tournament runner-ups, the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights. The Seahawks were bested by the Knights, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon.

With the loss, Wagner drops its sixth straight match and falls to 6-9 overall and 1-1 in league play while Fairleigh Dickinson improves to 5-9 and 2-1 in league action.

Fairleigh Dickinson took all three doubles matches to secure the first point of the overall contest.

In singles play, the lone win for the Green & White on the afternoon came in No. 2 singles play as freshman Ilya Kneppelhout (Woubrugge, Netherlands/Scala College Secondary School) earned his team-leading 13th singles victory of the season, edging out FDU's Adam Chan, 6-3; 3-6; 10-8.  With this afternoon's triumph, Kneppelhout ran his record to 10-4 in dual matches.

The Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday, April 9, as they begin a two-game home stint, welcoming the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers in an NEC contest starting at 2:00 p.m. from the Wagner Tennis Courts.
