2016 Northeast Conference Men's Tennis Championship Headquarters
West Windsor, NJ - The Wagner men's tennis team will be the No. 5 seed as they will square off against the No. 4 seeded Sacred Heart University Pioneers at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 22 at the Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ.
The tournament will occur over three days in a single elimination format.
The Seahawks have a pair of double-digit singles winners at their disposal in sophomore
Charlton Boyd (Shreveport, LA/Loyola College Prep) and freshman
Ilya Kneppelhout (Woubrugge, Netherlands/Scala College Secondary School), who each posted 15 wins during the regular season.
For Boyd, he thrived out of the No. 4 singles spot, posting a 10-3 record and is 14-5 in dual matches this year. Kneppelhout went 12-8 in dual matches while excelling out of the No. 3 singles spot with a .750 win percentage (3-1). In doubles action, Boyd and Kneppelhout led the team with a 14-6 record while posting a 5-2 mark out of the Flight No. 3 position.
Additionally, sophomore
Allen Wang (Clovis, CA/Buchanan) along with first-year Seahawks
Eric Poland (Fort Meyers, FL/Bishop Verot) and
Dale Sandy (Durban, South Africa/Kersney College Secondary School) each posted ten singles victories on the year.
