Durham, NH – Carlie Pough and Kat Fogarty paced the New Hampshire women's basketball team with 13 points apiece in leading the Wildcats to a 73-40 victory over Wagner tonight at Lundholm Gymnasium.
The Seahawks jumped out to a quick 5-2 lead on a bucket by junior guard
Tanasia Russell (Vineland, NJ / Vineland), followed by a three-pointer by freshman guard
Kellie Crouch (North Brunswick, NJ St. John Vianney) but New Hampshire reeled off the next 14 points en route to building a 41-18 halftime lead.
New Hampshire then outscored Wagner 20-7 in the third quarter to make it a 61-25 game. The Seahawks scrapped all the way to the end, managing to outscore the Wildcats,, 15-12 over the final stanza.
Russell led the way for the Green & White with 15 points, which came on 6-of-12 shooting from the field. Russell, who was also 3-of-4 from the free throw line, also contributed five rebounds, four steals and two assists in a productive 36-minute stint.
Crouch, along with fellow freshman guard
Sydney Sabino (Rumson, NJ / Rumson-Fairhaven), finished with six points each for the Seahawks with Sabino's points coming on 2-of-2 shooting from three-point range. Also hitting the scoring column for Wagner tonight were freshman guard
Corinn Baggs (Staten Island, NY /Staten Island Academy) with four points while senior forward
Jackie Dluhi (Middletown, NJ / Middletown South), junior guard
Julia McClure (Secaucus, NJ / Secaucus), and freshman forward Kerstie Phils (Charlotte, NC / Charlotte Christian), finished with three points apiece.
UNH outshot Wagner 44.9%-29.4% while holding a 49-29 advantage in the rebounding department.
With tonight's loss, the Seahawks fall to 1-4 on the season while the Wildcats, who compete in the America East Conference, improve to 3-2.
The Seahawks are next in action on Wednesday, November 30 when they return home to meet Yale. Tip-off at the Spiro Sports Center vs. the Bulldogs is set for 7:00 p.m. and the game can be seen, free of charge, on necfrontrow.com.

Sydney Sabino (Rumson, NJ / Rumson-Fairhaven) faced off with her older sister, Sam, who is a sophomore guard for New Hampshire. Sydney finished finished with six points in her 20 minutes of action while Sam played 10 minutes for the Wildcats and did not score
