Men's Tennis Edges Sacred Heart, 4-3, For Second Northeast Conference Victory

Fairfield, CT- The Wagner men's tennis team defeated the Sacred Heart University Pioneers, 4-3, on Thursday, in Northeast Conference (NEC) action. 

The Seahawks swept the doubles point as freshmen Michal Rolski (Kielczow, Poland/Oak Meadow [VT]) and Juan Alanis (Mexico City, Mexico/K12 International Academy) defeated Matt Dean/Brian Power, 8-4, en route to picking up their fifth win as a tandem while securing their third out of the #1 position.

Fellow classmates Ryan Khan (Weston, FL/University School) and Charlton Boyd (Shreveport, LA/Loyola College Prep) secured their second win of the season in the #2 position as they defeated Justin Pagan/Anthony Savio, 8-5.  Allen Wang (Clovis, CA/Buchanan) and Jakob Mostyn-Kolb (Melbouren, FL/Melbourne) bested Francisco Del Valle and Karan Narula, 8-3 to complete the sweep.

In singles action,  Rolski and Khan picked up straight-set victories in #1 and #2, respectively, as Rolski picked up overall win No. 16 on the season and his tenth in dual action while Khan notched win No. 12 and ninth in dual play while clinching the overall win for the Seahawks.

The Green & White will host Coppin State on Friday, April 3 from the Wagner Tennis Courts.
