Staten Island, NY- The Wagner men's tennis team ended an eight-match losing streak on Sunday, defeating America East member, University of Hartford, 6-1, at the Wagner Tennis Courts.
The Seahawks (8-8; 1-2 NEC) took two of the three in doubles actions as freshmen Michal Rolski (Kielczow, Poland/Oak Meadow [VT]) and Juan Alanis (Mexico City, Mexico/K12 International Academy) picked up their fourth win in #1 Doubles, defeating William Drumwright and Nicholas Sharwarko, 8-3. The duo of freshman Charlton Boyd (Shreveport, LA/Loyola College Prep) and Ryan Khan (Weston, FL/University School) picked up their first win as a pair defeating Ryan Lugtu and Alexander Romaine, 8-3.
In singles action, Rolski picked up his 11th overall win of the season and eighth out of the Flight #1 position as he defeated Lugtu, 6-0; 6-2. Khan also earned his 11th victory of the year while improving to 5-2 out of the #2 position as he was victorious over Drumwright, 6-3; 6-1.
Alanis was triumphant over Daniel Rombola in #3 (6-3; 6-4) while Boyd improved to 11-4 in dual matches on the season as he defeated Romaine, 8-4.
Wagner will close out the month of March on the road as they take on another America East member, the Stony Brook University Seawolves on March 31.
