Men's Tennis Falls To Saint Francis U. In Northeast Conference Tilt

Ebensburg, PA – The Wagner College men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 Northeast Conference tilt against conference foe, Saint Francis U, on Saturday morning.

With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 7-7 overall and 1-2 in conference play while the Red Flash improve to 5-7 and picked up their first NEC victory of the season.  

The tandem of Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week Michal Rolski (Kielczow, Poland/Oak Meadow [VT]) and fellow newcomer Juan Alanis (Mexico City, Mexico/K12 International Academy) picked up their third victory as a duo as they defeated the pairing of Washi Gervais and Rodrigo Tico, 8-3.

The Red Flash took the overall first point of the match after taking Doubles #2 and #3 by the scores of 8-4 and 8-3.

In singles competition, freshman Ryan Khan (Weston, FL/University School) picked up his tenth overall victory of the season, and seventh in dual matches as he defeated Alec Dylan Foo-Kune, 6-4; 6-1.  

Fellow first-year Seahawk, Charlton Boyd (Shreveport, LA/Loyola College Prep) picked up his team-leading 13th overall triumph and tenth in dual competition as he edged Sergio Carvajal, 4-6; 6-3 and 1-0 while taking the super tiebreaker, 11-9.

The Seahawks will be back in action on Sunday, March 22nd as they travel to State College, Pennsylvania to tangle with Big Ten member, Penn State University.
