Jersey City, NJ - The Wagner men's tennis team dropped its spring opener by a 7-0 count to Saint Peter's before having Sunday's match at La Salle cancelled due to inclement weather.

Tthe Peacocks improve to 5-3 with the win while the Seahawks fall to 1-4.

In doubles action, the duo of sophomore Christian Grau (Dallas, TX / Spring Creek Academy) and freshman Sam Flaxman (Avon, CT / Avon) posted a solid 8-5 win at No. 1. However, Saint Peter's collected wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to collect the first point of the match.

In singles play, Grau lost a 7-5, 4-6, 10-8 heartbreaker at No. 1 to lead the way for Wagner.

The Seahawks will now host Holy Cross in their Alumni Day match at the Wagner Tennis Courts on Saturday, March 15 at 1:30 pm.
