Bakersfield, CA – After falling down by five goals in the first quarter, the Seahawks did their best to comeback against CSU Bakersfield, but ultimately fell short, 15-10.
Jess Lundgren (Queensland, Australia / Mountain Creek) and
Michelle Greenough (Davis, CA / Davis) led the attack with three goals and one assist each.
Wagner was unable to stop a big first quarter from CSU Bakersfield, as the Roadrunners went up 6-1 after one. The lone Seahawk goal in the quarter was from
Kaylee Ginnane (Tampa, FL / Coronado, CA) who scored off an assist from Lundgren.
The Seahawks mounted a comeback in the second and third quarters, outscoring the opposition 3-2 in the second, and 5-3 in the third. The effort would not be enough, as CSU Bakersfield opened it up in the fourth, netting four goals while Wagner only scored one.
Wagner (8-7) will now have a morning contest with CSU Monterrey Bay in the final game of the Roadrunner invite, and then get a day off before their next game. The Green and White have back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday against Azusa Pacific and Concordia, before playing in the Cal Baptist Invite next weekend.
