Sieferman Scores Twice In 3-2 Win Over Howard

Box Score

Staten Island, NY
– Junior Amanda Sieferman (Tucson, AZ/ Canyon Del Oro) scored her first two
collegiate goals, senior Julie Vigliotti (Staten Island, NY/ Staten Island Academy) added another, and the
Wagner College women's soccer team defeated Howard, 3-2, on Friday afternoon at Wagner College
Stadium. With the win, the Seahawks improve to 2-4 on the season. In the defeat, the Bison fall to 0-6-2.

Howard jumped on the board first in the second minute of play, as Jeseca Hinds' shot attempt was
deflected high into the air, floating in just under the crossbar to put the Bison on the board first.

The Green & White answered back a minute later, as sophomore Alissa Bianculli (Islip, NY/ St.
Anthony's) sent a corner kick into the box, which was headed in by Sieferman to knot the score at 1-1.

In the 10th minute, the Seahawks jumped ahead for good, as Vigliotti received a centering pass from
junior Jackie Nicholas (Rockville Centre, NY/ South Side), sneaking the ball inside the bottom right corner
of the goal for the 2-1 lead.

Wagner extended the lead in the 19th minute, as Sieferman rifled a shot from 35 yards out off a free
kick, putting the Seahawks ahead 3-1. Sieferman narrowly missed a hat trick in the 71st minute, as a free
kick opportunity from 25 yards out was bobbled and subsequently corralled by Howard goalkeeper Kyra
Dickinson.

The Bison narrowed the deficit in the 66th minute, as Jordan Brown grabbed a ball bouncing around in
front of the net and tapped it in for the game's final tally.

Seahawk sophomore goalkeeper Lisa Capelli (Manalapan, NJ/ Red Bank Catholic) made two saves in the
contest. Dickinson made seven stops for the Bison.

Wagner returns to action on Sunday, Sep. 9, when the Green & White travel to Newark, NJ to square off
with NJIT.
