Staten Island, NY - St. Francis (NY) defeated Wagner by a score of 6-1 in the Seahawks' first dual meet of the year at the Wagner Tennis Courts. With the win, the Terriers improve to 1-3 and 0-1 in the Northeast Conference (NEC).

Freshman Christopher Jarema (Pitts Grove, NJ / Schalick) picked up the lone Green & White's victory on the afternoon, winning in straight sets at No. 5 singles by scores of 6-2, 7-6 (5). Classmate Christian Grau (Dallas, TX / Spring Creek Academy) was also solid in his collegiate debut, before falling at No. 1 singles in a three-set heartbreaker, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 4-6. 

The Terriers won the other four singles matches and the doubles point to capture the match.

Wagner returns to action against Rider on Friday, October 12 at 3:00 pm.
