Seahawks Downed 10-4 by No. 14 Ranked San Diego State

San Diego, CA – The Wagner College Water Polo team (8-11, 0-0 MAAC) dropped their second contest of the day to No. 14 ranked San Diego State University on Saturday in game two of the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, CA. The Seahawks fell 11-6 to the University of California, San Diego in the tournament's opening round earlier today.

After two scoreless periods, the Seahawks finally got on the board with three goals in the third period to make the score 7-3 entering the final quarter. The host Aztecs added three more goals in the fourth quarter for the 10-4 final.

Four different Seahawks scored in defeat, including sophomore Lauren French (Shillington, PA/North Penn), Natalie Pyrz (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area), Molly Robinson (Lansdale, PA/North Penn), and Laura Vanderbent (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin). Vanderbent has scored in 13 of the last 14 games with 15 of her team-best 29 goals coming during Wagner's west coast trip.

Tomorrow, Wagner will compete against Cal. State University, Bakersfield (RV) at 1:30 PM (EST) and No. 18 Princeton University at 5:15 PM (EST).
