Box Score

Loretta, PA –
The Wagner College women's soccer team closed out its 2010 season falling to Saint Francis of Pennsylvania, 3-0, at the Stokes Soccer Complex in Loretta, Pennsylvania.

The Red Flash set the pace of the game in just the 12th minute as Stephanie Boulter recorded her second goal of the season, hitting a shot past Wagner goalkeeper Katie Marcy (Bellmore, NY).

Each team had further scoring chances in the opening 45 minutes, but it was the Red Flash that ended up outshooting the Seahawks 6-3 in the first half.

Saint Francis, who honored their seniors prior to the game, came out in a blaze in the second half, besting the visiting Seahawks 8-3, and notching two more goals to seal the victory. The Red Flash's Alecia McNiff and Codi Bixler were credited with the Saint Francis goals.

Senior Briana Vassallo (Saddle Brook, NJ) led the Green and White in shots on the day, recording three, putting two of them on goal. Sophomore Jessica Panarella (Staten Island, NY) tallied the only other shot on goal in the game, as Lauren Fearer made all three saves in the shutout.

The Seahawks end the season 6-13-2, with a 2-6-2 record in Northeast Conference games. Saint Francis, who clinched the second playoff spot in the NEC tournament, ended their regular season 14-4-1 and 8-2 in the league.

Wagner finished the season on a four-game losing streak, ending in ninth place in the conference. Their six regular season wins though marks the most wins by the Seahawk soccer program since 2003, when the team went 7-10-1.
