Worcester, MA- The Wagner College women's soccer team (1-4) was shut out by Holy Cross, 6-0, this afternoon at Smith Stadium. Holy Cross's (4-2-1) Shelby Stand gave the Seahawks trouble, scoring two goals in the Wagner loss. 

Three Seahawks, freshman Katie Keown (Morris Plains, NJ/ McKee-Tech), freshman Julie Vigliotti (Staten Island, NY/ Notre Dame Academy) and Briana Vassallo (Saddle Brook, NJ/ Paramus Catholic) managed to fire shots on goal but were rejected by Crusader goalie Jessica Stone. 

Stand struck first for the Crusader's in the 14th minute of the game, scoring on a Wagner miscue. Holy Cross tacked on two more goals before the end of the first half by Chelsi Pugliese and Paige Harrison. In the second half of the game the Crusader's goals came from Katherine Donelly, Stand, and Maura Fox. 

Junior goalkeeper Sam Schueschner (Brookfield, CT/ Brookfield) made six saves in the loss, while the Crusader's Stone stopped 3 shots in earning the shutout. Holy Cross outshot Wagner 18-8. 

The Green & White return to action Sunday, September 20 when they travel to Riverdale, NY to face Manhattan College. Start time is set for 10:00 AM.
