New Britain, CT.- Freshman
Julie Vigliotti (Staten Island, NY / Notre Dame Academy) of the Wagner College women's soccer team was named Second Team All-Conference. The recognition was announced on Thursday night at the league's annual awards banquet.
The rookie was the Seahawks' top offensive threat this season, netting four goals, three of which were game-winners. Vigliotti first two goals came in Wagner's 7-0 win over Delaware State on September 6. In Wagner's game against Fairleigh Dickinson (10/25) Vigliotti broke a 1-1 tie as the Seahawks went on to defeat FDU 3-1. Her final goal of the season came in Wagner's 3-0 Senior Day win over NJIT (10/30). The freshman put her team on the board in the ninth minute of that game, producing a lead that NJIT would never recover from. Vigliotti also finished with two assists this season.
“I am very proud of Julie for being selected to the Second Team All-NEC Team,” said head coach
Mike Minielli. “She had a great season for us and was a difference maker in our conference games. She was a catalyst for the team in every game. This is a great honor for Julie, as a freshman, and I am very happy the other NEC coaches recognized her for her efforts this season.”
