Men's Tennis Ends Fall Season With Loss At Saint Peter's

The Wagner men's tennis team concluded its fall season with a 7-0 loss at Saint Peter's. In defeat the Seahawks fall to 0-6 while the Peacocks improve to 3-2.

At No. 1 singles Serge Igel defeated freshman Taylor Santoro (Absecon, NJ / St. Augustine Prep) 6-1, 6-1. Sophomore Yirmeyah Beckles (Cincinnati, OH / Aquinas College)was blanked by Alex Frakes 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. At third flight singles, freshman Pierre Yuzon (Bakersfield, CA / Centennial) was also blanked by JJ Gramatica 6-0, 6-0. Senior Zac Lewis (Colorado Springs, CO / Palmer) fared no better at No. 4 singles, losing to Tony Wilkey 6-1, 6-0. At No. 5 singles, sophomore Nicholas Apicella (Peekskill, NY / Peekskill) was bested 6-0, 6-0 by Robert Forai. Rounding out singles play, freshman Mark Anthony (Hinsdale, MA / Wahconah Regional) lost to Lukas Pospisil 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.

Saint Peter's won all three doubles matches to take the doubles point.
