Delaware State Defeats Wagner 7-0

Staten Island, NY - Delaware State handed Wagner a 7-0 setback in non-conference tennis action on Sunday, March 30.

Wagner is now 1-9 while Delaware State improves to 4-4.

At No. 1 singles, senior Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord-Carlisle) put up a valiant fight before losing 6-4, 6-4 to Oleg Mironchikov. Sophomore John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) was felled by Alexey Chibisov 6-0, 6-2 in second flight singles. In third singles, Brian Gelis shut out sophomore Ben Serbiak (Washington Crossing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) 6-0, 6-0. Classmate Byron Clohessy also lost 6-0, 6-0 to Milos Velickovic at No. 4 singles. At No. 5 singles, senior Will Shuler (Springfield, MA / Central Springfield) lost to Tyler Wyatt 6-0, 6-0. Rounding out singles' play, junior Sheldon Wilson lost a tough 7-5, 6-4 match to Michael Siembida.

Delaware State captured the doubles' point after winning all three matches.

The Green & White is next in action on Wednesday, April 2 when they host St. Francis (NY).
