Staten Island, NY - NJIT handed Wagner a 7-0 defeat in non-conference tennis action in the Seahawks' home match of the spring. With the win the Highlanders move to 12-5 while the Green & White fall to 1-7.

At No.1 singles, NJIT's Iulia Doci defeated junior Brittany Frazza (West Caldwell, NJ / Morris Catholic) 6-0, 6-0. In second flight singles, freshman Sarah Sproviero was felled 6-1, 6-0 by Isha Toor. In third singles, senior Marie Crane (Cheshire, CT / Cheshire) also lost 6-1, 6-0 to Fatima Kasem. Fanny Aizier handed junior Emily Boyd (Stratham, NH / Exeter Area) a 6-0, 6-1 loss at No. 4 singles. Sophomore Valerie LeCureux (Jamison, PA / Central Bucks East) fared no better at No. 5, succumbing 6-0, 6-1 to Dasa Stanimirovic. Freshman Joanna Ciavarella was blanked 6-0, 6-0 by Chiori Koike at the six spot.

The Highlanders captured the doubles' point by winning both matches.

Wagner returns to action on Sunday when it hosts Delaware State at 10 am.
