Box Score

Princeton, NJ - The Wagner women's water polo team could not match the offensive effort put forth by the 18th-ranked Princeton Tigers as the Seahawks lost their third game of the year 11-6.

In the first quarter, Wagner's offense was able to keep up with the Tigers, ending the first stanza of play tied 2-2. But it was in the second quarter that Princeton took off, scoring three uncontested goals to take a 5-2 lead going into half-time. The Seahawks were able to put up two goals each in the third and fourth quarters, but it was not enough to match Princeton's six goal second-half.

On the offensive side, senior Camille Karimzad (Walnut Creek, CA/Campolindo) led Wagner with two goals on four shots. Junior Nicole Maichrowicz (Temple City, CA/Temple City) netted one while stealing three and drawing three ejections. Rounding out the scoring for the Seahawks are freshman Laura vanderBent (Shillington, PA/Mifflin) and junior Dru Murphy (Keller, TX/Slippery Rock) who each found the back of the net once while senior Lindsey Rodgers (Anaheim Hills, CA/Fullerton JC) had one assist and led the Wagner with five steals on the night.

The Seahawks return to action on Saturday, February 23rd when they head to the Terrapin Invitational in College Park, MD. Wagner will play three games in the tournament, two in the first day of play against George Washington and Bucknell University and will finish up on Sunday with tournament host University of Maryland.
