Siena Shuts Out Wagner 7-0 In Men's Tennis Action

Siena shut out the Seahawks men's team at the Wagner Tennis Courts. With the win, the Saints are now 3-3 while the Seahawks are 0-4.

In singles' action, freshman Marcelo Ensignia (Madrid, Spain / Saint Andrew's Academy) dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Jeremy Deuel at No. 1. At second singles, Jarrett Siwiec defeated sophomore John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) 6-0, 6-3. Sophomore Yirmeyah Beckles (Cincinnati, OH / Aquinas College) fared no better at No. 3 singles, losing 6-0, 6-2 to Jay Godbole. At No. 4 singles, Stefan Putyera handed junior Ben Serbiak (Washington Crossing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) a 6-1, 6-0 loss. At the five-spot, senior Sheldon Wilson (Albany, NY / Albany) put up a solid fight before succumbing 6-3, 6-1 to Nick Godbole. Rounding out singles' play, freshman Robert Santana (North Haledon, NJ / Manchester Regional) was felled by Robert Cooperman 6-0. 6-3 at No. 6 singles.

Siena won the doubles' point, claiming all three matches.

Wagner hosts La Salle on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 1:00 pm.
