Rider Shuts Out Wagner

Wagner lost to Rider by a 7-0 count in non-conference tennis action and is 0-7 on the year while the Broncs are 2-3.

At No. 1 singles, sophomore John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) fell in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 to Casey Jedlinski. Freshman Marcelo Ensignia (Madrid, Spain / Saint Andrew's Academy) was set down 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Yirmeyah Beckles (Cincinnati, OH / Aquinas College) was shut out 6-0, 6-0 by Marc Ashed at No. 3 singles. Junior Ben Serbiak (Washington Crossing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) was felled 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles by Chris Esposito. At the five-spot, senior Sheldon Wilson (Albany, NY / Albany) lost to Robert Olsen 6-3, 6-1. Rounding out singles' play, freshman Robert Santana (North Haledon, NJ / Manchester Regional) was blanked by Aaron Goldenthal 6-0, 6-0.

Rider won the doubles' point sweeping all three matches.

The Green & White also lost to St. Francis (NY) by a 6-1 count on Saturday, Oct. 18. For the Seahawks, Santana led the way picking up his first collegiate win by a 6-2, 6-2 score over Alvin Rey at No. 6 singles.

Wagner concludes its fall season with a 2 pm match against Saint Peter's on Saturday, Oct. 25.
