Fairfield, CT - The Wagner College Women's Soccer team lost a non-conference match-up to the host Stags of Fairfield University (4-4-1) Thursday night, 6-0. The Seahawks move to a record of (1-6-1, 0-0-0 NEC) on the year.
The Seahawks couldn't seem to find an answer for the Stags blistering offense as they weathered three Fairfield goals going into halftime without putting up a score of their own.
The second half, unfortunately for the Green & White, was much the same as the Stags evened out their first half output with three more goals in the last 45 minutes.
The Stags owned a significant shot advantage in the match, besting the Seahawks by a count of 23 to 2.
Freshman Samantha Schueschner (Brookfield, CT/Brookfield) split time with junior Leslie Reed (Indian Harbour Beach, FL/Satellite) in goal. They had eight and two saves respectively.
The Seahawks come home for a game this Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. against the Highlanders of NJIT at Wagner College Stadium.
