Tennis Falls In Season-Opener To Robert Morris

Staten Island, NY - The Wagner Seahawks (0-1) dropped its season opener to Robert Morris (1-2) by a 7-0 score at the Wagner tennis courts.

At No.1 singles, senior Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord-Carlisle) fell just short against Sean Curley, dropping a marathon-match 7-5, 5-7, 7-5. Sophomore John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) lost at No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-1 to Nick Paganetti. At No. 3, classmate Ben Serbiak (Washington Crossing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) was blanked 6-0, 6-0 by Ryan Cameron. Sophomore Byron Clohessy and senior Will Shuler (Springfield, MA / Central Springfield) were also shut out 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Junior Sheldon Wilson was felled 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6, rounding out singles play.

Robert Morris captured the doubles' point winning all three matches.

Wagner is next in action on Tuesday at 3:30 pm when the Green & White travel to local rival St. Francis (NY).
