West Windsor, NJ - No. 7 Wagner (3-14) was defeated by defending NEC Champion and No. 2 seed Quinnipiac by a 4-0 count earlier today at the Mercer County Tennis Center.
Junior Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord-Carlisle) was beating Mike Racioppo, at first singles 4-3 at the conclusion of the match. Freshman Ben Serbiak (Washington Crossing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) was felled by Scott Salway 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Also losing by a score of 6-0, 6-0 to Thomas Curran at the five spot was junior Will Shuler (Springfield, MA / Central Springfield). Rounding out singles play, Charles Feldman shut out freshman Sheldon Wilson as well 6-0, 6-0.
The Bobcats took the doubles point by winning No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Freshman John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) and graduate student Robert Kiley (Greenlawn, NY / Hofstra) lost to John Hughes and Feldman 8-0. Shulder and Wilson also lost 8-0 to Salway and Curran.
Wagner heads to the loser's bracket where they will face No. 6 Saint Francis (PA) tomorrow at approximately 1 pm.
