Rider Shuts Out Wagner 7-0

Lawrenceville, NY - Wagner (3-13) wrapped up their regular season with a 7-0 loss at Wagner earlier today. The Seahawks will be the No. 7 seed for the upcoming NEC Tournament (April 20-21) and will face off against No. 2 Quinnipiac on Friday at approximately 2 pm.

Junior Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord-Carlisle) dropped a tough 7-5, 6-3 loss to Casey Jedlinski at first singles. At No. 2 singles, freshman John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) fell to Will Haight 6-1, 6-1. In third singles, graduate student Robert Kiley (Greenlawn, NY / Hofstra) lost to Marc Ashed 6-2, 6-2. Jim Leone handed freshman Ben Serbiak (Washington Crossing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) a 6-0, 6-1 defeat at fourth singles. At fifth singles, freshman Byron Clohessy lost to Luke Sproviero 6-2, 6-1. Rounding out singles play, Mike Straub set down junior Will Shuler (Springfield, MA / Central Springfield) 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6.

Jedlinski and Tom Becker beat Amster and Clohessy 8-2 at No. 1 doubles while Haight and Ashed defeated LeBlanc and Kiley 8-3 in second doubles.
