Wagner Crushes SFNY 7-0

Staten Island, NY - Wagner (4-8; 2-4 NEC) won for the fourth time in their last seven matches with a 7-0 pasting of St. Francis (NY) at CSI.

Sophomore Brittany Frazza (West Caldwell, NJ / Morris Catholic) moved to 7-5 on the season with an easy 6-1, 6-0 win over Daniella Sanderson at No. 1 singles. At No. 2, junior Aarti Mahtani (Montego Bay, Jamaica / Saint Andrews's) dominated Enisa Drekovic with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Classmate Marie Crane (Cheshire, CT / Cheshire) blanked Jenna Charles 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Sophomore Emily Boyd (Stratham, NH / Exeter Area) also won 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles over Meaghan Valenti. At No. 5 singles, freshman Valerie LeCureux (Jamison, PA / Central Bucks East) became the third Seahawk to win by shutout on the day posting at 6-0, 6-0 victory over Catherine Drakakas.

The Seahawks wrapped up the day with a pair of 8-0 wins in the two doubles' matches. Frazza and Crane shut out Sanderson and Charles while Mahtani and LeCureux blanked Drekovic and Valenti.

The Seahawks will now look to avenge their earlier loss to Monmouth when they travel to West Long Branch, NJ on Thursday for a 3:30 match.
