Moon Township, PA - The men's tennis team lost their third-straight match 7-0 at Robert Morris earlier today. The loss drops Wagner to 2-9 and 1-3 in the NEC. With the win the Colonials improve to 2-13 and 2-0 in the NEC.
Junior Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord-Carlisle) lost by a score of 6-2, 6-0 to Sean Curley at first singles. At second singles, Nick Paganetti defeated freshman John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) 6-0, 6-0. Graduate student Robert Kiley (Greenlawn, NY / Hofstra) dropped his match at No. 3 singles to David Pinto 6-3, 6-0. Freshman Ben Serbiak (Washington Crossing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) lost to Cyrus Manuchehrian at fourth singles 6-0, 6-0. At fifth singles, freshman Byron Clohessy fell in his collegiate debut to Tom Delorie 6-0, 6-1. Classmate Shelden Wilson's was blanked 6-0, 6-0 by David Yokitis at No. 6 to round out singles' play.
Curley and Paganetti shut out Amster and Clohessy at first doubles 8-0. At No. 2 doubles, LeBlanc and Kiley were defeated by Pinto and Delorie 8-2. Wilson and Serbiak was set down 8-0 at third doubles by Manouchehrian and Yokitis.
The Seahawks conclude their Western Pennsylvania trip with a match at St. Francis (PA) on Sunday at 3:30 pm.
