Wagner Falls 6-1 To Delaware State

Staten Island, NY - The men's tennis team lost 6-1 to Delaware State yesterday at the College of Staten Island. The loss drops Wagner to 2-8.

Graduate student Robert Kiley (Greenlawn, NY / Hofstra) was the lone winner on the day for the Seahawks, defeating Tyler Wyatt 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

Junior Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord-Carlisle) lost by a score of 6-0, 6-2 to Alexey Chibisov at first singles. Freshman John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) fell in straight-sets 6-0, 6-0 against Oleg Mironchikov. Classmate Ben Serbiak (Washington Crossing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) lost at fourth singles to Mike Siembid 6-3, 6-2. At fifth singles, junior Will Shuler (Springfield, MA / Central Springfield) lost to Adae Amoako 6-3, 6-1 while freshman Shelden Wilson's was blanked 6-0, 6-0 by Florian Pejchar at sixth singles.

Chibisov and Mironchikov defeated LeBlanc and Kiley at first doubles 8-3. The duo of Amster and Shuler lost 8-3 to Wyatt and Siembid at second doubles. Pejchar and Amoako completed the doubles' sweep for the Hornets with the 8-4 victory over Serbiak and Wilson.

The men are next in action on Saturday at 3:30 pm when they travel to Robert Morris.
