NJIT Shuts Out Wagner 7-0

Tenafly, NJ - The men's tennis team was shut out 7-0 by NJIT on Saturday, March 24 at the Tenafly Racquet Club. The loss drops Wagner to 2-7 while the Highlanders are now 10-8.

Junior Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord-Carlisle) was handed a 6-0, 6-2 setback by Steve Erickson at first singles. Freshman John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) fared no better at second singles, losing to Jonathan Lang 6-0, 6-1. Playing in the three hole, classmate Ben Serbiak (Washington Crossing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) lost in straight-sets 6-0, 6-0 to Cosmin Chiujdea. Junior Will Shuler (Springfield, MA / Central Springfield) also lost 6-0, 6-0 to Steve Arlt at No. 4 singles. At fifth singles, freshman Shelden Wilson's fell 6-0, 6-0 to Damian Wentzel.

Lang and Chiujdea defeated LeBlanc and Serbiak 8-2 at first doubles while Erickson and Lawandy were victorious over Amster and Shuler 8-2 to capture the doubles' point.
