Wagner Rolls Past UMES 4-2

Princess Anne, MD - The men's tennis team opened their spring-season in victorious fashion defeating the University of Maryland Eastern Shore by a 4-2 count. With the win the Green & White improve to 2-6 while UMES falls to 0-8.

Junior Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord-Carlisle) claimed the win at No. 1 defeating Kishan Sudusinghe 8-4. Graduate student Rob Kiley (Greenlawn, NY / Hofstra) shut out Buwaneka Galpothawela 8-0 at No. 3 singles. Junior Will Shuler (Springfield, MA / Central Springfield) clinched the match with a an 8-5 win over William Ntirenganya at fifth singles coupled with freshman Shelden Wilson's forfeit victory at sixth singles.

Freshman John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) lost 8-5 to Marcus Robinson at No. 2 singles and classmate Ben Serbiak (Washington Crossing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) was clipped 9-7 by Harold Fowler at fourth singles.

There were no doubles matches due to the weather conditions and all singles-matches were scored as pro-sets.

The Seahawks will return to action on Saturday when they travel to NJIT for a 7 pm match.
