Teaneck, NJ - Junior Christopher Fourman (Greenville, OH/Greenville) leads the Seahawks after the first round of the Knights Invitational - hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson University - in a tie for 8th place after turning in a first round scorecard of 76 (41-35) yesterday afternoon.
Wagner as a team sits in sixth place with a combined score of 332, just two strokes behind the fifth place Peacocks of St. Peter's College.
Rutgers University leads the tournament with a combined team score of 291, three strokes better than second place Monmouth University.
Other notable scores on the Green & White side were Jeffrey Smolar (Fr., Jackson, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) who finished with an 80 (38-42) - in 22nd place, Connor Popp (Fr., Syracuse, NY/Westhill) who shot an 85 (42-43), good enough for a 29th place tie, and Thomas Abramoski (Fr., Poughkeepsie, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) who finished the first round with a 91 (48-43).
Freshman Brian Conlan (Highland Milles, NY/John S. Burke Catholic) rounded out the Seahawks after shooting a 99.
Tomorrow will mark the second and final round of the tournament.
