Staten Island, NY - The Wagner swim team lost to the University of New Hampshire 160-101 at Wagner's first of three home meets of the season. This loss pushes the Seahawks to 2-1 on the season.
Though the Seahawks fell saw their first loss of the season, key wins by senior Halley Allen (Bryan TX, Bryan) in the 100 backstroke, senior Jess Radka (Reading, PA/Holy Name) in the 200 butterfly, sophomore Jessica Hart (Summerfield, NC/Northwest) in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly and sophomore Melanie Rodriguez-Lapman (Chesire, CT/Chesire) in the 200 individual medley kept the Seahawks fighting till the last race.
Other standout performances include last week's NEC Player of the Week junior Alexandra Tomlinson (Telford, PA/Souderton) placing second in the 1000 and 500 freestyle, freshman Sarah Plucinsky (Allentown, PA) coming in second in the 200 freestyle, and senior Lindsey Rogers (Anaheim Hills, CA/Fullerton JC) in second in the 100 freestyle.
The Seahawks return to the pool November 2nd when they head to Newark, New Jersey to take on NJIT.
