Jersey City, NJ - Wagner women's tennis team concluded their fall season with a 1-3 record after dropping a 6-1 decision at Saint Peter's. With the win the Peahens improve to 2-1.
At No.1 singles, junior Brittany Frazza (West Caldwell, NJ / Morris Catholic) picked up her second win of the fall with a come-from-behind win at No. 1 singles over Vanessa Pangikas. After losing the first set 7-6 (7-4), she rebounded to dominate the final two sets 6-2, 6-1. Senior Aarti Mahtani (Montego Bay, Jamaica / Saint Andrew's) was not as fortunate against Laurie Souksavath, losing 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2. At the three spot, senior Marie Crane (Cheshire, CT / Cheshire) was blanked 6-0, 6-1. Junior Emily Boyd (Stratham, NH / Exeter Area) lost 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles to Meredith Earley. Sophomore Valerie LeCureux (Jamison, PA / Central Bucks East) put up a strong fight at the five spot before succumbing to Kristy Bonner 6-4, 6-0. Freshman Stephanie Esgro also lost a tough one to Kristen Realista at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-3.
Saint Peter's also won the doubles' point, winning all three matches.
