Loudonville, NY - Wagner women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Siena in non-conference tennis action. The Seahawks are now 1-2 while the Saints improve to 2-2.

In fourth singles, senior Marie Crane (Cheshire, CT / Cheshire) pulled out a hard-fought 3-6, 6-3, 10-6 win over Jennifer Messing. Freshman Stephanie Esgro also was victorious, defeating Bridget Finnerty 6-4, 6-4.

At No.1 singles, junior Brittany Frazza (West Caldwell, NJ / Morris Catholic) was felled 6-1, 6-1 against Sarah Mayer. Senior Aarti Mahtani (Montego Bay, Jamaica / Saint Andrew's) also lost in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 at second singles. Junior Emily Boyd (Stratham, NH / Exeter Area) was blanked 6-0, 6-0 by Jessica Asselin at No. 3 singles. At No. 5, sophomore Valerie LeCureux (Jamison, PA / Central Bucks East) also lost 6-0, 6-0 to Dinka Keric.

Siena also won the doubles' point, winning all three matches.

Wagner is next in action tomorrow with a 3:00 pm match at Saint Peter's.
