New Britain, CT -- In their final tune up for the Northeast Conference championships the Wagner College women's swim team fell in an emotional meet to host Central Connecticut State by a score of 135-125.

Wagner started things off solidly with a second place time in the 200 yard medley relay at 1:52.29. The medley relays were solid for the Seahawks all day long. After that in the 1,000 free sophomore Alexandra Tomlinson (Telford, PA/Souderton) took second place at 10:25.96 while Colleen Bowman (Hauppauge, NY/Hauppague) grabbed fourth at 10:34.48.

Wagner picked up their first win in the next event when reigning NEC swimmer of the week Brigitta Roser (Ithaca, NY/Lansing) was good for first in the 200 free at 1:55.36. Event five saw another first place for Wagner as senior Nicole Paduano (North Haven, CT/North Haven) tallied first in the 100 yard breast at 1:11.00 followed in second place by classmate Amanda Males (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg) at 1:11.19.

Roser was a winner again at event eight in the 100 yard free at 53.72 while another senior in Kate Wilson (Brentwood, CA/Liberty) came through in the 200 yard breast taking top honors at 2:31.64. Tomlinson came back with another good performance in the 500 yard free finishing in second at 5:08.29. Meanwhile freshman Jessica Hart (Summerfield, NC/Northwest) had a near victory in the 100 fly taking second place at 58.94.

Melanie Rodriguez-Lapman (Chesire, CT/Chesire) closed out the positive individual performances for Wagner in the 200 IM in second at 2:14.42. The Green & White rounded out their day with a second and third place finish in the 400 yard free relay with times of 3:20.28 and 3:53.59.

Next up for Wagner is the main event of their season, the Northeast Conference Championships starting on February 16 in Landover, Maryland.
