Seahawks Fall To NEC Rival Monmouth

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - The Wagner College men's tennis team was swept 7-0 by Monmouth earlier today.

Junior Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord-Carlisle) fell in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 to Ben Evenden at No. 1 singles. At No.2 Tom Corrie downed freshman John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) 6-1, 6-2. Classmate Ben Serbiak (Washington Xing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) was dispatched by Pedro Bruno at No. 3 by scores of 6-0, 6-0. At No. 4, graduate student Robert Kiley (Greenlawn, NY / Hofstra University) lost 6-0, 6-1 to Corey Forrest. Freshman Kevin Callaghan fell 6-0, 6-1 to Nick Lezoli at No. 5 singles.

In first doubles, Corrie and Bruno held off Amster and LeBlanc 8-1 while Chris Hart and Miles Vidreino defeated Serbiak and Kiley 8-5 at second doubles.

Next up for the Wagner will be Delaware State on Saturday, September 23 at 12 pm in a make-up of yesterday's postponed match.
