Staten Island, NY - The Seahawks women's lacrosse team equaled a school record with 24 goals in a 24-11 win over Robert Morris in Northeast Conference play at Wagner Stadium. For the Seahawks it was their first league win of the season as they improve to 1-3 and 3-8 overall. The Colonials fall to 1-4 NEC and 2-11 overall.
Senior Heather George (W. Allenhurst, NJ / Ocean Township) recorded her third seven goal game of the year as the Seahawks equaled the most goals scored previously set in a 24-4 win over Marist in 1998. Robert Morris would hold early leads of 1-0 and 2-1 before the Wagner offense got rolling. Junior Jessica Ellis (Fairport, NY / Fairport) ignited an 8-0 run that covered seven minutes and left the Seahawks up 9-2 with 15:57 left in the first half. Robert Morris then scored five of the games next seven goals, but stilled trailed 11-7 before goals by freshman Cara Gonzalez (Syracuse, NY / Westhill) and Richmond put the home team up 13-7 at the half.
The second half was more Wagner offense as Geogre, Ellis and Biggart all scored in the first four minutes for a 16-7 lead. The Colonials would score four goals in the half, but never really threatened as Wagner went on a 5-0 stretch to close out the game.
Jennifer Collins had three goals and an assist for RMU, which was out shot 49-26. Kate Dunlap made 14 saves in goal. The Seahawks also held a 26-11 advantage in draw controls.

Richmond led the team with seven draw controls, while senior Jen Ryan (Clifton, VA / WT Woodson) scooped up three ground balls to go along with her two goals.
Wagner is back in action on Sunday as they host St. Francis (PA) on Senior / Alumni Day for the Seahawks. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
