Men's Tennis Shut Out At FDU 7-0

TEANECK, NJ - Green & White fell to 2-12 overall 1-6 in the NEC following their 7-0 loss at FDU on Saturday, April 15.

The doubles duo of senior Brandon Sogluizzo (Staten Island, NY / Curtis) and graduate student Scott Chamberlin (Torrington, CT / Torrington / Western New England) posted the Seahawks only win of the day at the No. 2 spot 9-7 in a tiebreaker over Constandi Efthymiou and Rodrigo Avilia. Senior Steve Johnsen (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) and sophomore Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord-Carlisle) lost at No. 1 doubles to Dan Wynne and Juan Pablo Medina 8-3. The Knights captured the doubles point as they won at No. 3 by default.

In singles play, Johnsen lost at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-1 to Wynne. At No. 2 singles, Al Nersesyan defeated Amster 6-1, 6-0. Sogluizzo was blanked at No. 3 singles by Medina 6-0, 6-0. Chamberlin lost a tough match at No. 4, dropping the first set 6-2 before coming back to win the second 6-2 and send the match to a tiebreaker before falling 10-6 in the decisive third set. Sophomore Will Shuler (Springfield, MA / Central Springfield) lost in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles to conclude singles play.

The Seahawks wrap up their regular season with a 6 pm match on Tuesday, April 18 at the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, NY against St. Francis (NY).
