Final Stats
Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's lacrosse team picked up their second straight home victory as they knocked off the visiting Jaspers of Manhattan College earlier this afternoon 14-8 at the Wagner College stadium. With the victory Wagner now moves to 2-6 on the season.
Senior Heather George (W. Allenhurst, NJ/Ocean Twp.) led the Seahawk attack with five goals. Freshman Jessica Richmond (Jenkintown, PA/Jenkintown) complemented the attack with four goals of her own as Wagner jumped out to a 6-4 halftime advantage.
The Green & White would add to their offensive output in the second half as they outscored the Jaspers by a count of 8-4 en route to the 14-8 win. Freshman Amy Jones (Jarrettsville, MD/N. Harford) played the entire game in net and recorded 12 saves.
Wagner also received goals from Kelly Blundin (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Whitemarsh), Darby Biggart (Crownsville, MD/Arch. Spalding) and current NEC rookie of the week Cara Gonzalez (Syracuse, NY/Westhill).
The Seahawks are next in action this Friday when they will entertain NEC foe Sacred Heart at 3:30 pm at the Wagner College Stadium.
