Final Stats

Staten Island, NY -- The Drexel University Dragons took out the Wagner College Seahawks 17-5 in non conference women's lacrosse action earlier today at Wagner College Stadium. With the victory Drexel moves to 6-0, while Wagner remains winless in 2006 at 0-5.

Drexel used a 9-0 run to begin the game and put the Seahawks in the hole early. Wagner finally broke through in the scoring column when freshman Jessica Richmond (Jenkintown, PA/Jenkintown) found the net with just over six minutes remaining in the first half. Classmate Cara Gonzalez (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) would add another goal to close out the Wagner scoring in the half and the Green & White trailed 10-2 at intermission.

Drexel would run off three more goals in the second half while the Seahawks would respond with three of their own. Seniors Heather George (W. Allenhurt, NJ/Ocean Twp.) and Darby Biggart (Crownsville, MD/Arch. Spalding) would add goals before Ricmond tallied her second score of the day, but it was not enough to overcome the Dragon lead.

Wagner is next in action this Thursday when they host the Gaels of Iona at 3:30 pm.
