Iwicki Blasts Four RBI in 5-1 Rebel Games Win Over Army

Kissimmee, FL - The Seahawks continued play at the Rebel Games winning their morining contest 5-1 over Army at the Osceola Sports Complex. Wagner(1-7) will face Lafayette later today at 2:20 pm.

Sophomore Ami Iwicki (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) powered the Seahawks to their first win of the season with four RBI in the opener against Army (2-8). The second year right fielder put Wagner on the board first when she beat out an infield single with two outs in the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded Iwicki hit a shot deep in the hole to short, but beat the throw allowing sophomore Victoria Batistelli (Huntington Beach, CA / Huntington Beach) to score from third and freshman Jaclyn Vanore (Palisades Park, NJ / Paramas Catholic) who hustled around from second.

Wagner then added another run the in the inning as junior Christina Hopkins (Edison, NJ / Edison) scored on an overthrow by the pitcher on a shot hit from classmate Natalie Stephens (Jackson, NJ / Jackson).

The Black Knights would answer back with an unearned run that was knock in off a sacrifice fly in the top of the third leaving the score 3-1 in favor of the Seahawks. Hitting out of the ninth hole, Iwicki then struck again in the fourth innings with a two run double that fell in between the gap in right center. The double sent Vanore and Hopkins to plate again after both single to open the frame.

Junior Morgan Miller (Las Vegas, NV / Silverado) held the Black Knights in check through out allowing just four hits, and the one earned run as she picks up her first win of the season. Miller (1-4) gave up just two hits in the final four innings as she posted 10 ground ball outs in the game.
