George Sets Wagner Career Goals Mark in 13-9 Loss at St. Joesph

Philadelphia, PA - Wagner senior Heather George (W. Allenhurst, NJ / Ocean Twn.) set the Seahawks career goals record with her 150th career goal in Wagner's 13-9 loss to St. Joseph's. The Seahawks fall to 0-2 with the hard fought loss.

After the Hawks scored the game first tally, Wagner took a 2-1 with a back to back goals from George and freshman Cara Gonzalez (Syracuse, NY / Westhill). St. Joe's then ran off four straight scores for a 5-2 lead they would not relinquish.

George and freshman Jessica Richmond (Jenkintown, PA / Jenkintown) would follow with two more first half goals before heading into intermission down 6-4.

The second half opened with two straight scores giving them an 8-4 advantage before senior Jen Ryan (Clifton, VA / W.T. Woodson) scored for the Seahawks. Wagner fell behind 10-5 when Richmond score ahead of George's record setter. The senior attacker surpassed Janet Sobieski's (1997-00) previous mark of 149 with an unassisted goal with 16:13 left.

Freshman goalie Amy Jones (Jarrestville, MD / N. Harford) was again soild in goal with 15 saves, including 10 in teh first half.

Ryan added five ground balls as did senior Darby Biggart (Crownsville, MD / Archbishop Spalding) who assisted on a gols as well.

The team returns to action on Florida with games vs Fairfield and Niagara on the 14th and 15th
