Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College Women's Soccer team won an overtime thriller knocking off Mount St. Mary's (4-14-0, 2-6-0) at Wagner College Stadium in a Northeast Conference battle this afternoon. They now move to a record of (2-15-0) overall and (2-6-0) in the NEC.

All afternoon the contest proved to be a vicious stalemate with physical play picking up momentum as the seconds ticked away from the ninety minutes of regulation.

The goalkeeping was the one resounding highlight up until the overtime sessions, as Mount goalkeeper Anna Lebo - who had seven saves on the afternoon - went back and forth with Seahawk senior goalie Ashley Wilson (Secane, PA/Upper Darby) with brilliant game-preserving saves.

Wilson would wind up with an impressive 11 saves on the afternoon.

The game, however, nearly flashed before Wagner's collective eyes in the 79th minute of the game when Mountaineer forward Karyn Farrar had a wide open shot on goal off a quick rebound that she booted just high hitting the top post.

This would prove to be the turning point of the game.

Upon going into overtime, both teams remained knotted with goose eggs on the board through the first ten minute session. But just 24 seconds into the final ten minute overtime period freshman forward Brooke Keany (Rumson, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven) bounced a deep, looping shot over Mountaineer goalie Anna Lebo that trickled into the lower left-hand corner from about thirty yards out that automatically won the game for the Seahawks in "sudden victory" fashion.

It was Keany's first goal of her career.

The Seahawks wrap up the season for their final game of the year at home this Sunday when they face off against the NEC leader Monmouth University Hawks at 1 p.m. at Wagner College Stadium. Senior Day tributes will start twenty minutes prior to start time to honor the graduating Seahawk players competing in their final home game.
