New Britain, CT - Wagner was dealt a 57-40 loss at Central Connecticut St in NEC action earlier tonight at Detrick Gymnasium. After scoring a season low point total the Seahawks slip to 10-7 overall and 3-5 in the league.
Wagner scored the first two points of the game, but that was it from the Seahawks offense as CCSU ran off the next 14 points for a 14-2 lead. The Seahawks would close the deficit to eight (19-11) 6 minutes later, but a 18-4 stretch by the Blue Devils closed out the half.
The second half was not much different from the first as the offensive struggles continued to mount for the Seahawks. Wagner fell behind by as many as 30 before the game was finally decided.
Freshman Doug Elwell (Staten Island, NY / MSGR Farrell) was the lone player in double figures as he led the team with a career high 14 points, including 4-6 from three.
The Seahawks shot just 30.4 percent for the game and a mere 25.0 (7-28) in the first half, when the committed 11 turnovers as they fell into a 22 point hole
