Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's soccer team lost their fifth game of the season to Fordham University. The Seahawks now stand at 0-5 for year while the Rams are 4-3-1. The Seahawks came out playing their aggressive style defense keeping the first half scoreless. Shots on goal remained close throughout the half, with Fordham having a slight advantage of three more shots (8-5).
Fordham's Breean Daily broke the silence in the 15th second of the second half connecting on a cross from the right side to strike it passed Wagner's freshman goalie Leslie Reed (Indian Harbour Beach, FL / Satellite). Within the next minute, Fordham struck again with Leah Jerome getting an assist off of the head of a teammate, which she drove in from six yards out.
Fordham's offensive pressure was too much for Wagner as they out-shot the Seahawks (16-7). Betty Ann Rogers (Mt. Holly, NJ / George School) who had two shots in the game, leads the Seahawks in shots this season with nine. Leslie Reed (Indian Harbour Beach, FL / Satellite) got her first start of the season and collected five saves in goal.
Fordham scored their last goal in the 55th minute of the game on a break away by Breean Daily to produce the final score.
Wagner returns to action on Thursday away against Iona for a 3:00 pm contest
